Very sad news.

Sadly our Jake passed away last week. We will remember him always and he will be in our hearts forever.

Long awaited update.

Well hello again. It seems as though I have almost forgotten all about updating this blog. Truth be told I had. Since last writing here I have gotten several projects done, including a second pair of Hermione’s Everyday Socks. Also finished is a little shawlette called Lost. My Steve’s Shirt socks that were my very first 2-at-a-time socks. I have knit several dishcloths in preparation for Christmas, with plans of making a lot more. Also planning on making Mitered Hanging Towels to match the dishcloths. In progress I have some Christmas knitting that I will not be able to show just yet because of wanting things to be a surprise.

I just took a peek back and saw that I have missed some. In order of finish dates are, the Soft and Wonderful baby afghan, a baby hat for my new nephew, Beachcomber socks, a baby granny square afghan, and a pair of Monkey socks. I guess I have been keeping pretty busy.

I guess the best place to start would be at the top and to work our way down.  First off are the Hermione's Everyday Sock by Erica Lauder.

The next project on the list would be the LOST shawlette.

Following is a picture of my very first 2-at-a-time socks that I named Steve's Shirt.

My stack thus far for christmas dishcloths.

Soft and Wonderful baby afghan.

A baby hat for our newest little man.

My Beachcomber socks.

This baby granny square afghan was actually made by two people.  My Aunt made the squares and had me put them together and make a border for them. It turned out great.

And last but not least are the Monkey Socks by Cookie A. I can say this was my first charted project and I enjoyed it greatly.

The Doctor

I have been knitting, and knitting. My sister is having a baby in June so I started a baby afghan that I have decided to design myself.  I have one Weasley Homestead sock done! Yippee! I am past the cuff and onto the second pattren repeat for the second sock.

I also have one of my socks done!

Sadly however I have not yet cast on for the second one.

I got some exciting mail this past week. I ordered some books and they finally got here. I got Knits Men Want, by BruceWeinstein and  Knit, Sock, Love by Cookie A.  Both are excellent, I had to read through them a bit when I got them.

I started some christmas knitting also, I know, I know I might be a bit of an over acheiver here but I wanted to be sure that I had time to get things completly done this year.  I have been just sitting here, when not at work of course, watching Doctor Who and knitting up a storm.  I am thinking that I have gone through three whole seasons these past couple of weeks.    This weekend I am off on a girls day with my sister and we will be baby shopping. I cant wait.

The Start.

Welcome to my very first blog post. I have not attempted this kind of thing before so I guess I will see how it goes. In case anyone is wondering I have named this blog after my wonderful doggy Jake, my DS and I  adore the "old man."

I started this blog to keep a record this year of all the projects I have either finished or am currently working on at present. So I will get right to it. Right now I am working on a couple of pairs of socks one for myself and one for my son.  First of all I will start with my son's socks I am making The Weasley Homestead by Erica Lueder. Using stroll tonal in Foliage. Right now I am just starting the third pattren repeat on the body of the first sock and just moving right along. My son is loving how quick they are working up, I have to admit that I am also loving this. The pattren is great. I am using a 1.5mm 40" circular working in magic loop.

And now onto my socks, and yes there is kind of a theme going here. For myself I am making Hermione's Everyday Socks also by Erica Lueder. Again with the stroll tonal in the colorway Canopy, which is a lovely green. Using a 2.75 mm 40" circular needle working in the magic loop. I am just three or four rows past the spot where I have added the waste yarn for the afterthought heel.

Well I think that is about all for this post so I hope everyone has a good rest of the week. Blessings to you all.
